Hale County Meals on Wheels is the recipient of a grant that allow our organization to deliver meals free of charge to veterans, their dependent spouses and their surviving spouses. This funding will enable Hale County Meals on Wheels to provide a home delivered meal free of charge at noon each weekday to qualified veterans, their dependent spouses or surviving spouses living in the city limits of Plainview or in the Seth Ward community.
- A grant through the Texas Veteran’s Commission begins July 1, 2022 and will continue until June 30, 2023. This program is supported by a grant from the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. The Fund for Veterans’ Assistance provides grants to organizations serving veterans and their families. Eligible veterans, their spouses, and surviving spouses who are over the age of 65 and would not otherwise qualify for meal assistance under state programs based solely on age, income and disability.
